The Battery Common Use Unit (BCU-5) is an accessory which allows both the wireless beam sensors and the wireless alarm transmitter to be powered from a single set of batteries (located in the beam sensors). When sharing the battery power using the BCU-5, the low battery signal for both the sensor and wireless transmitter will be monitored by the wireless receiver. It has two benefits, there is no need to use a two channel wireless transmitter, only one channel is required to send the tamper signal and it simplifies the analysis of the "low power signal".
